ABOUT THE AUTHOR

James Voelker is a Vietnam Veteran who volunteered to serve in Vietnam in 1969. His training was at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. As soon as he got there he was told ‘listen up, take orders, and sign up for extra training.’  His unit was the last unit to be trained on the M-14 rifle. Upon arriving home in the United States, he spent a year running dog tags to various families of men in his unit. Then he spent a few years in Colorado exploring. 


Today his career as a carpenter is still somewhat active. In his free time he enjoys working on his house, watching old movies, writing, and spending time with his grandkids.
